HI, I read the post from someone else looking for other Ch. 13'ers in Eastern VA and thought what a great idea. With so many different trustees doing different "things" I think it would be nice if I knew who was dealing with the same regulations as I am here in Texas. Any Texans out there????

Here in the forum when people say "new law" or "old law":
- Old law = US personal bankruptcy law in effect from 1994 to October 17, 2005
- New law = US personal bankruptcy law that went into effect Oct 17, 2005 to present (also known as BAPCPA - Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act - a misnomer if there ever was one)
Here's a listing of the changes caused by BAPCPA in 2005 - http://www.brianwilliamslaw.com/lawy...y-1028192.html
For an interesting brief history of bankruptcy in the US, see http://www.credit-to-cash-advisor.com/news_304.htmlLast edited by lrprn; 12-12-2007, 07:38 PM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
