Anyone file new law Ch. 13 in Texas

HI, I read the post from someone else looking for other Ch. 13'ers in Eastern VA and thought what a great idea. With so many different trustees doing different "things" I think it would be nice if I knew who was dealing with the same regulations as I am here in Texas. Any Texans out there????

I filed in Dallas last year, so it's new law.
I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.

Ok.. for the newbie in me.. can someone (in 100 words or less) tell what the differences are with the old and new laws? Don't go to much effort, because I'm sure I can find it with some searching.

In February 2005 Congress passed a new bankruptcy law that introduced the required Means Test, required credit counseling and financial management courses, and other changes that weren't debtor-favorable. That law went into effect on October 17, 2005.

Here in the forum when people say "new law" or "old law":
            - Old law = US personal bankruptcy law in effect from 1994 to October 17, 2005
            - New law = US personal bankruptcy law that went into effect Oct 17, 2005 to present (also known as BAPCPA - Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act - a misnomer if there ever was one)

Here's a listing of the changes caused by BAPCPA in 2005 - http://www.brianwilliamslaw.com/lawy...y-1028192.html

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

            06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
            06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
            07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
            09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
            08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

            10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go
