An update to left over monies

I paid off my Chpt. 13 9 months early. (Yippee! ) I was told my pay off balance was something like $3550. So I sent that in.

I believe I am supposed to have 0% to unsecureds. I'm kind of annoyed by this because of that 0% pay to unsecureds.

Once secureds were paid off there was just under $2000 left over. I checked my account 13datacenter.com one day to find that the status was "Completed" and the remaining monies was paid to unsecured creditors.

*sigh*

I was hoping for, but not expecting, the rest of the money back. Obviously I'm not going to get it. Either way, from my POV, that money was already spent. But it is annoying to see that *some* of the unsecured creditors got money.

At anyrate, I'm slated to receive my discharge and atleast the status is listed as completed. I just wanted to update on what happened to the extra money I had on balance with the trustee. Right now, I'm just happy and GRATEFUL and THANKFUL this chapter (literally!) in my life is over.

at least you are done. To keep me in mine until the 36 month mark, my trustee raised my percentage to unsecured to 61 percent. LOL oh well, 6 months to go. Congratulations on being done!!

Just curious but was the pay off amount of $3550 equal to the 9 months of payments or did our mutual friend quote something different?

I wasn't surprised ... just ... annoyed.

It was how much money was needed to pay off the plan base. If you took my monthly payment of $444 * 9 = 3996.

My plan base total amount was $26,388.00. I had paid up to $22,838 into the plan amount. Having sent in the $3550 made my total payments into the plan equal the plan base total amount.

Checking 13datacenter.com, my amount paid to unsecureds has now been updated to 3.27%. (Where as previously, before that money was disbursed, it said 0%.)
