So are you saying that your attny does not do BK's?
If so, it would seem to me that he would be able to refer you to another BK attny and there should be NO charge to you.
After all he was/is the attny of record.
Let us know what happens.
Miss PoshGiddy with excitment as the end is HERE!

ok, so here's the update.
Lawyer quit doing BK's about 2 years ago (must have been right after he did our reschedule so we could purchase a home).
Called trustee: lawyer has no more obligations to us after confirmation. so we would need to retain another lawyer. the problem: we filed in east texas, now live in central texas. one lawyer already said no, have to find a lawyer in east texas.
ok, so talked with trustee again and here's our situation:
1. Truck will be totalled. Blue book value $9200
2. Pay off of bk: 5993.77
ASSUMING we get blue book, leaves a little left over from bk. trustee says it depends what ford wants to do. So what does that mean ?? Ford can have the option to take all of the money ? Who does the check go to and who pays off the bk?? And the more I'm looking at this, the more I'm thinking this could a blessing. I know we lost the truck, but if we get out of bk 14 months early, it's that awesome ?! That's a savings of 475/month and hey, we can save and maybe have a better credit rating to buy another vehicle. Yes it would inconveniet to have just one car (and no truck) but doable.
Also, if we get enough to pay off bk/ford, so we need another lawyer ?? Does he do anything to discharge the bk ?
I'm stressing and ranting, sorry.
