Hi there. I have a question I forgot to ask my lawyer and thought I'd ask here instead. I have filed Chapter 13, but not had my 341 meeting or confirmation yet. My lawyer told me to pay my monthly payment by money order for the next few months until the plan confirms, at which point it is mandatory to do payroll deductions. So my question is this: If the trustee objects to the plan and we finally end up working it out, but I end up with a higher monthly payment, at what point does the higher monthly payment go into effect? Retroactive to the 1st payment (so I need to come up with extra $ to cover the couple months where I was paying a lower amount) or at the point when the new payment plan is agreed upon? Thanks!

Normally when the plan is finally confirmed. I filed Chapter 13 in May 2005. My plan was confirmed in September 2005 and I had to pay the payment increase starting in September.sigpicPersevere: "To continue a course of action, in spite of difficulty, opposition or discouragement."

I was confirmed July 26 but the payment increase didn't go into effect until the middle of September. My attorney was able to get it put off due to the start of school expenses that always occur, like clothes and school supplies.
Before confirmation, my payment changed twice, long story, not typical case. Each change the payment went down and it was effective with the next payment. One time, that was the very next day. We filed the amendment at the last minute.I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.
