I guess that I am lucky, we were able to avoid the wage garnishment with permission of the judge and have been paying by personal check for over 2 years.

Our trustee won't take a PERSONAL check but they don't do wage garnishment either.

Our trustee doesn't do wage garnishment, but it has to be in the form of cashiers check or money order.

We just filed a few weeks ago, but my lawyer said I had to pay by money order the first 2 months while all the paperwork is still in progress, at which point i have to switch to payroll deductions. I really don't want to have to go to the business office where I work to set it up because I work at a small college and they'll gossip to everyone on campus I am sure, but my husband's checks just won't be enough to cover it all so it has to come from mine. I think it's a really crappy system to require payroll deduction since in some jobs it can really be held against you, but I guess they want to make it as painful as possible so you don't want to go through with it.
