Does anyone now how long from the day I file ch.13 it takes for it to be posted on my credit report??
Phil, I'm curious....you just filed Ch 13 bankruptcy three days ago. Why you are asking about how long it's going to take to show up on your credit report?
Since you can't take on any new debt without permission from your trustee for extraordinary circumstances, you aren't going to need your credit report for anything for at least three, probably five years. Are you just wondering "how low can you go?"
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
08/10/11 - DISCHARGED ! 10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

I am certainly not getting any credit for anything. I was just curious, because the new job I am getting may require that they pull my credit. I just wanted to know if it will be on there when they pull it. SInce I will be working for a bank, there will certainly by questions if it does show up.
A bank probably won't hire you if you filed BK. I know that for a fact because a friend of mine tried that. She got denied because of it is a financial institution.

My husband got a job with a bank/credit card shortly after our discharge. The issue came up but he eventually got the job. A bankruptcy does make getting a banking job harder but doesn't always automatically disqualify you. It depends on the bank, the specific job, the canidates other qualification, how much they liked the canidate, what other canidates there were, ect.
Filed: 10/26/2006
Discharged: 03/05/2007
Closed: 5/19/2008 - Asset case due to balance transfer and income tax refund
Credit card bank is different from a branch. He didn't clarify what the position was so I guess you're right. I know my friend couldn't get the job working in a bank.

Thank you all for your commenets, but does anyone know about how long it takes to be posted on the report. Is it when it is filed or is it when everything is confirmed and ok'd by the judge??
