Starts with "Chas" and ends with "e" They aren't just ripping off people with their overnight 29% credit card APR raises and exorbitant late fees - their mortgage division is working overtime to screw a few homeowners already in bankruptcy as well.

        lrprn,

        Lovely. Not!

I read your post and thought how glad I was to have dumped them as a bank a few months ago. I'm now with Capital One.

I think that Chase is planning to hit you with a whopping balance due after your discharge. I have seen it posted on other forums? or here? that has happened to others. Faithfully paid all payments to mortgage company and to the trustee and then discharged and whoa!!!!! a huge bill from the mortgage company arrives that says pay all these fees, late fees, penalties for the late fees, and lawyer fees, etc etc etc. I know you are documenting everything but this sounds like a huge problem for you to deal with even after your chapter 13 is over. Thankfully you are documenting etc and can take them to task in court. Good luck!

How I do HATE that f^%$&**( company known as CHASE. I absolutely despise them and then to hear what they might be doing to you just makes me cringe!

I swear, everytime I see one of their commercials now I just want to throw up. We have two CC's with them and stopped paying a few months ago, as I "get our ducks lined up" so to speak. I really don't feel bad about it at all either. I had been a CC holder with them since 1983...and a "loyal" one at that. Used it wisely for years, paid on time, business/personal use, etc... Then, in 2004, when I became self employed and lost my health insurance, no one would insure me because of my bad back. Because of testing, medications, a minor surgery, etc...ended up with a large balance but still religously paid, taking a second job...which was hell on my back. I called them to see if they would include me in their hardship program for awhile, so I could try and get the balance lowered. All they did was raise my rate to 32% on my next statement...and to top it off they did the same to my wife's!!!

I am now (or I guess I should say I was) paying almost $1300 a month to Chase...in just finance charges! I pleaded with them to work with me...and they wouldn't do a thing. I have nothing good to say about them and never will.

Lrprn...I hope things work out for you, and I hope you can stick it to them good!

Thanks, rrockinggramma, fed, and chi. Actually our lawyer is chomping at the bit to get to them in court, and frankly so are we!
