Granny, it sure sounds like you have ur hands full. I understand you make your living with the truck and want to keep it, but I believe I read in another post that it probably wont last 2 years. what happens after that? I dont know economy in your area, but Im always reading about companies needing drivers. Would it not be better to just let the truck go?

    Good luck

I guess we're lucky...so far. Although, we have only met with the attorney once, to review and sign our petition, his paralegal is an ABSOLUTE GEM! She responds quickly to every single call or email. It's a big firm, and I know she's busy, but she has a knack for making us (and probably all of their clients) feel like their concerns are the most important tasks on her "to do list" for the day. Seriously...I emailed her last night, and got a reply from her at 7:50 this morning...they don't even open until 8 or 8:30!

Our attorney really seems to know what he's doing! Although, I knew nothing about BK, so maybe he doesn't....but he seems to! And, believe it or not, I think he's very honest! He's also a minister! How's that for an interesting combination of careers!?

So, I'm hoping our luck holds out! We have 42 days until our 341 meeting! Only surprise so far has been the MTLS from our delightful mortgage company, CHASE. And our atty handled that for us....wonder if we'll get a bill for it?!

      Hoping for brighter skies ahead.....

Economy in our area is irrelavant, as he drives cross country. The problem is company drivers are not paid as much as we can make being self employed and he would probably have to team, which he hates. Although I sleep soundly in the sleeper while the truck is moving, he doesn't. Being older, getting another job in another field is difficult and he would have to start at the bottom ie low pay. In our particular area of Texas, there has been a boom in the gas wells so there are those jobs, but those guys are putting in 18 hour days, too much for an old man. They pull all nighters and with two little ones in the house, hubby wouldn't be able to sleep in the day time.

I don't know what happens in two years, I'm hoping for Divine intervention. Today hubby spoke to a fellow that we had previously sold another truck to a few years back and this guy is still driving that same truck, with 1.3 million miles on it, so, there is that possibility. We put in a new transmission in October, hence the refi, so we are good there for a long while...if the engine will just hold out.

In the mean time, I know there is money to be made as a Stay at Home mom so I am pursuing that avenue...little girls will always wear bows, so I'm looking into bow making. Who knows!!!

well I certainly wish you well. Hopefully your truck will hold out, Im just concerned that if it doesnt you will continue paying for it anyway in ur chapter 13 whether its running or not.

Hmmm i have a new niece...she might need some bows

That's what I am afraid of....does anyone know if there is a point of no return with surrendering assets...can we surrender 2-3 years down the line and say so sorry or will we be stuck with the trustee payments if we surrender at a later date?

I'm still trying to find the frilly elastic that is used for baby bows, but when she is bigger, let me know, I have made some really cute ones for bigger girls.
