    Tax Refund Heartbreak

So, I just finished e-filing our taxes through the IRS website, since its only 15 bucks- and we would of gotten back over 7k- but that is all going to the trustee. We only owe 5k, well, thats the percentage of what we are to pay. So, I guess this just goes to the main principle?

This is a lesson to everyone to be sure you are not lending your money, interest free to Uncle Sam!!! I would rather owe a little than get back a lot!!

Jen, be sure to adjust your salary withholdings for this year so you don't have a repeat giving away of thousands of $$ of your hard-earned money next year to your trustee. Here's a good IRS resource to help you do it - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p919.pdf . Try to adjust so you will get just a little bit back. That way you'll have the use of that money all year instead of doing without it in Ch 13 and then end up giving it all to your trustee....yuck! No worse feeling in the world.
