    A little discouraged....

I am 21 months into a 41 month plan, so just over 1/2 way there, but I am feeling a little discouraged today. My plan is to start saving my car payment (which pays off in May) and buy out on the 36th or 37th month which is just before my 39th birthday. So really I would only be 15 or 16 months from being finished.

I know that this is going to be a fresh start, and I am very appreciative that I have the opportunity to get a fresh start. I am just a little discouraged. I think it has a little to do with turning 40 and still not having the wife, 2 kids and white picket fence....(i'll have to start saving for the white picket fence when I finish the 13 up...) I do have a nice dog though....

    Just whining, sorry....

Don't sweat turning 40, you are just now facing the best years of your life. You thought it was when you were in your 20's didn't you? Naw, life doesn't even begin to make sense until you are well past 40.

Be glad that you have learned these hard lessons while you were young. It will make the rest of your years even better for having learned these hard lessons early.

    Happy Early Birthday

Same here... Turned 40 last year, and filed C13 last year. Just relax and hold out, it won't last forever.

Try being 50 with kids in college you know you cannot help with their college education AND no retirement savings or house left.

I know exactly how you feel. Not quite the future we envisioned when we were younger, 'eh??!!

Sometimes you just gotta take what life dishes out and roll with the punches. And pray that God will be there to walk you thru the rest.

Kags, we are in the same boat. Filed about the same time and will discharge about the same time. So, trustee will let you keep the extra money after you pay off your car payment? Darn, had I known that, I would have paid mine outside the plan. Mine has been paid off for over a year now. Good luck.
