Thank you But I Was Not Looking For Your Support.

Forgive me for taking so long to respond to HHM and others, But I have course work to complete and MCAT studying to do. In addition, I support and assist my daughters with their extra curricular activities and Yes I work and have a husband to take care of.

To correct some assumptions, my husband and I were looking at all options to make sure that I would NOT have to put aside my med school goals in light of the situation with the home. He makes enough to support our family, but not to keep paying for a ARM on a $250K home that we know is not worth it. Our cars are fairly new and paid in full. Our oldest is a college senior and on scholarship. We are truly blessed and have come to the realization, that we need a home but it does not have to be this one. Thus, our home has been listed as of last week and we will downsize from 4000 sq ft to 3200 sq ft. My kids get to stay in their school zones and once accepted, I get to quit my job and go to med school full time. My husband makes enough and I love him for it. My med school loans are avail for tuition, books, fees, and living expenses so I will take advantage of that. I get to decide how many years I will sign up for the govt physicians "program" and no I don't have to move to Arizona or to a reservation. I can stay in my big city and work at the county hospital.

Oh, I forgot to mention, We have two offers on the house already and will definitely be free of that burden. The forebearance payment plan from the mortgage company and the adjusting rate, is what did us in. They reported us late everymonth killing our credit score and sapping our bank accounts. But, you live and you learn. We will work on getting our scores back up, without bankruptcy. We only have two credit cards paid on time and no other outstanding loans.

I wish you all the best!

I'm having flashbacks of Northern Exposure

If you are accustomed to Manhattan, and you are sent to the Navajo nation and are basically isolated...well, you can see how that may get old? The burden of college is going to have a bad impact on the intellectual status of the U.S.- more kids will simply be unable to afford to access a degree.
