Question Late Payments Dropping off of Credit Bureau

My Chapter 13 discharge was Oct 2023. My first BK filing was 2010 and my final filing was in 2017. I made some late payments on my second mortgage to my credit union from Dec 2017 to April 2018 while in bankruptcy. All of those 5 months were reported late to Transunion and a few months to another bureau and no months were reported late to the 3rd. Up to Nov 2024 those months were late but in Dec some of the months were not late and there are no lates from that account listed at Experian and Equifax and now in Jan only the month April 2018 is reporting late.

Should I wait until April 2025 to see if it does drop off or will contesting it now "help" remove it?

It is my only late on all of my credit accounts and on Transunion that places my credit union account into the Accounts with Adverse Information section so I can't wait until it is gone and all of my accounts are reported Satisfactory.

Disputing late payments almost always backfires as the will come back as valid and the effective dates will be updated causing your scores to drop. You're so close, just let them age off on 01-April.
