So I have been trying to Google if our cases start on the day we filed or the comfirmation date. My trustee went by the comfirmation date. I found a site where they show past and present bankruptcy cases in every district. Some cases in southern ohio the last payments were either at month 60 or 61. Some cases I seen went 3 to 5 months past the 61st payment. One thing I notice is that the discharge seems to happen one month after the last payment and the cases were closed 3 months after the last payment

I believe that Ohio is one of the only States that goes by the confirmation date for a Chapter 13. It may only be a specific division--Northern vs. Southern. I only know that it is different from every single other districts in the country. I'm surprised that someone hasn't run this all the way up to the Sixth Circuit.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

Well i got discharged on 3/10/25. This last 6 months seem like it lasted the whole 5 years. Went from thinking my last payment was in November to not knowing at all. I'm here to tell the people from southern ohio that they still have a hill to climb after that 60 months. I don't want people getting happy about their case getting close to ending only to find out they have a lot more payments coming out of their checks. I made payments all the way up to the discharge. The trustee would send me checks in the middle of the month for the payments that I made. This was a ride that I never plan on taking again. I hope this post helps others because I was searching and searching

That sounds so complicated and different than my experience in Northern Ohio, but we ended early so I don't know how long it would have dragged out. Was your plan 100% pay back? I wonder if that makes a difference, but you think if it's a 60 month plan there should be payments through only 60 months. Ours ended early since we were 100% pay back and some creditors did not file.I am not an expert. I share my experiences in the Wonderful Wacky World of Chapter 13! Filed 3-30-18 Confirmed 7-11-18 Discharged 6-8-22
