Chapter 13 Dismissal

Hi all,

Yet another question that no one ever talks about. What happens if the Chapter 13 case is dismissed? What are the
repercussions? I'm currently about 1 year 1/2 in my plan and I've paid almost $15,000 into my plan. If something were to go south and the case be dismissed would this money go towards anything that I paid? Not that I'm going to fail now, but I was just curious because no one really talks about this!

Yes, the money would go toward your debt, however, that typically pales in comparison to the retroactive addition of interest which was stopped when you filed. That plus the creditors will suddenly become very aggressive at collecting any and all debt no longer protected by the bankruptcy.
