I think we need new legislation to make the tax codes a little tougher to figure out.
I printed off the forms for both Federal and my state, and went through them. I figured I will be paying in to the feds right at 1k, and be able to offset that with a 400$ state rebate. Not bad; right at where I want to be.
I didn't trust my own scribbling. Since I used Tax Act last year I knew I could preview it before I had to pay to file, which I did.
Since I did not receive the full stimulus payment due to 2019 AGI, I am eligible to take the difference on my 2020 return as a tax credit because this years income is under the 75k mark for singles. According to this, there will be a surplus from the IRS of around 90$, and over 600$ from the state.
Well, Snap! A little more to throw into the plan. Also, the trustee can have a little beer money. (Beer, Hell. More likely champagne.)
I will go on and file, but still set aside some $ in case this is incorrect.
