In the home stretch, 6 months to go!

I can’t believe I’m finally here. My third time filing and I’m going to make it this time. So excited!

I do have a question though. Our mortgage is being paid through the plan. Once the payroll deduction stops is a mortgage payment due immediately or do we have a 30 day grace period or something?

Your mortgage will be due on the normal date. If the trustee hasn't paid the mortgage by the time of the next due date, you need to make sure that you pay it.

For example, your mortgage is due January 1, 2021. your plan ended December 15, 2020 and the last mortgage payment made by the Trustee was December 1, 2020. You should plan to make the January 1, 2021 mortgage payment and each payment thereafter as it comes due.

Many Chapter 13 debtors get in trouble between the discharge (or last day paid into the plan) and the case closing. They don't know what to do. But you are asking the right questions! This will take some coordination but you can make sure there is no gap in payments.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10

Thanks! Yes I’m already thinking about it and what bills we will have to take back over. Mortgage should be the only one because our cars are now paid off. I really hope it works out where the trustee makes that last payment once the payroll deductions stop then we have about a month before the next payment is due.
