Planning for Discharge (4 months out)

My 5 year plan discharge is in March (I can't believe it's been almost 5 years). Will I be asked to provide recent bank statements, etc. to the trustee at the discharge the way I did when I was filing? I'd prefer to skip the hassle of having to gather everything at once by getting things ready along the way.

Also, I have to work to get a pre-bk judgement off my credit report. Is it too soon to get the ball rolling on that? My atty had told me when I filed that I should wait until the discharge.

    Thanks
    T.

Hi - Congratulations for being so close!!!! Good news - no you did not have to provide any banking documents, etc. etc. The only thing you need to do, is be sure your 2nd credit counseling course has been completed. You may have already done that, in which case there is nothing for you to do, other than wait for the trustee to do what needs to be done behind the scenes. As for getting that pre-bk judgement off your credit report...you will have to wait until your case is shown as discharged. Nothing will be done until there is confirmation of completion. Good luck getting to the finish line.

I also never provided any bank statements at the end. The Trustee just cares that you finished.

Congrats Tinker. Ours will be finished in January. It's been a long five years.

Thanks Sophieanne! It's like I'm getting a $2500/month raise. My wife's car is 11 years old. We will be getting her a new car as soon as we can. I'll also be pouring money in to my 401k. Life will be different for sure.

Congrats! I'm 2 years out and that's the first thing we'll be doing as well is getting my husband a new car.
