Trying not to giveup- Chap 13 payment increase

Im new to forum. Filed chap 13 in Jan 2015 1% to unsecured 33k base, laidoff Oct 2015, new job April 2016
Plan payment increase scheduled for next month due to post mortgage arrears being added to plan (4500 includes lawyer fees).
Original payment 550 new payment 760 ( 410 is car).My mortage payment is 760 per month + 760 per month trustee and i know i will owe the IRS for 2016 taxes. I net 2100 per month 2800 before layoff. I feel like walking into traffic I requested a loan mod packet lender advised this request needs to come my lawyer...waiting for lawyer to confirm the request. Im hoping i can get the loan mod and then convert to a 7 and let the car go. Trying for partime rejections received not qualified to stock, clean, or bake biscuits... Come on

I dont want to lose my house but this journey is tiresome and lonely.

Sometimes we just can't afford the things we have and your layoff certainly didn't help the issue. Your mortgage is low enough, but with all those arrears you need to re-evaluate. Are you underwater with the home?

Yes, it can be lonely but you can persevere. If you want to save the home then you are doing the right things (modification, conversion, etc).

No my home is not underwater. The car is.. Balance 15k value 10k at best. Lawyer suggested i send letter to lien holder and request a claim reduction due to hardship i may have to surrender..I cant rent a decent place for 760.00. Just discouraged that i was not aware of loan mod during layoff. I got behind on payments paying august in oct... Then it snowballed. I dont understand how people live in their homes a year and not pay- lender filed motion on me within 2 months and i was trying to pay -late but trying.
