Right now we are paying our chapter 13 monthly payments our self. Is there a way to change that to payroll deductions. I don't mind sending in the payments, but I am thinking it might be easier to have my payments come right out of my check. I am just trying to make life run a little smoother.

You may want to check to see if your district/trustee allows payment through www.tfsbillpay.com. You can set it up for automatic monthly payments from your checking account, and it even offers a biweekly option. I don't believe it's completely electronic, meaning that tfsbillpay may be sending a paper check to your trustee, but you do it all online. There may be similar services out there. There is a fee involved that's similar to a cashier's check from the bank. If you do use TFS, just be sure the withdrawal is set up 9-10 days before your payment due date. It takes about two days for the $$ to be taken by TFS from your checking account and another 5-7 days a week from withdrawal date for the payment to show up on NDC as received by the trustee. I've been using TFS for about a year after a number of months of PO money orders. It's very convenient, but costs more than the money order. I had no problems with TFS to date either.

Yes, definitely check with your attorney to see if your Trustee participates in any one of several different automatic payment systems. switch625 mentions TFS but my District Trustees use a Sun Trust service that does a similar thing. Once you set it up, it's automatic and no worries (drafted from your checking account on a particular day). In fact, my Trustee has an additional service that the Trustee sets up through Sun Trust. That system only drafts payments twice on month (on the 2nd and the 17th).Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
