OK, so I am surrendering my home in my 13. I owe $153, 700. I do believe it can sell for what is owed against it. I have read where trustees sell the home, but my attorney said to call my lender about 2 weeks out from file date (5/11) so they got the letter from the court. He said to talk to the BK dept. He said for me to set up arrangements to give back the keys.
Has anyone ever done this? What if they won't take the keys? I am voluntarily giving the home back, what is going to actually happen? I am afraid to call them, but my attorney said they will talk to me. He said to not worry over the home anymore and the banks "had people to deal with this stuff." I am in Idaho. Just seems weird to me....has anyone had any experience in surrendering the home during initial filing? I am no longer in the home. Thank you.
