So I showed up an hour early for me 341 meeting. Was too afraid that some "event" would make me miss my meeting. I get paranoid like that...lol.
Anyway, I am so happy that I paid for an attorney...whew!!! When I first got there, I waited outside for my attorney for about 10 minutes, then decided I should go into the room and observe how the cases were being handled. I really started to get scared, because the trustee was really drilling some people. Three of the people before me got referred for dismissal. I was starting to panic.
Once I saw my attorney, I nearly jumped out of my seat to consult with him. We walked out into the hallway and he told me not to panic...that I was "golden" All my paperwork was in order and everything will go fast and smooth. So we went back in and I continued to watch person after person head up to the front and face the trustee.
Once my name was called, I approached the table, and gave the Trustee my ID & SS card. I sat down with my attorney. The trustee asked me all of 8 questions. Never drilled me about my tax return as he had to more than a few people. He then asked if there were any creditors in the room for me and there were none. So he said that is all and I can wait until July 25 for discharge......Wahoo......I was so happy. Months of being scared was all over in 3 minutes...amazing. My attorney followed me out into the hall again and congratulated me on a new beginning. He told me not to buy any lottery tickets within the next 6 months...lol.
I have to say this was the hardest financial decision I have ever had to make and now I feel much better about it...and my choice to pay for an attorney.
Just a little note.... There was one creditor in the room and she represented a Tire company......she was there for 4 different people for of all things....tires and rims..lol
