Well, I wasn't nervous so that was a good thing. This forum really helped me feel comfortable walking in. I got there late but so did everyone else due to weather. We were due to start (my group) at 8:00am and everyone was there by 8:15. I left my car at 8:08am and was back in the car at 8:22am. (that included going through security!) He started at 8:15 and told us who he was and asked everyone to give his assistant our license and social security card. He called the first guy-his attorney wasn't there due to weather so he called 2nd guy.
2nd guy--
Asked to swear in give his name and address
Asked if he read the petition before signing
Asked what he does and who his employer is
Stated he had a $3k tax refund and did he expect one this year. Convo went like this:
Guy "No"
Trustee "Why not"
Guy "Because I'm in school"
Trustee "Did you earn roughly the same as last year"
Guy "Yes"
Trustee "Then what does school have to do with you not getting a similar tax refund"
Guy "Because I get credits for going to school so I'll get a bigger tax refund"
LOL!!! Trustee simply said "i want your a copy of your tax return and any refund"
Trustee then asked
What is xyz business? Do you still own it? Does your father still operate it? Answer was 'No'
You have a car and motorcycle, do you plan on keeping them? Guy says not the motorcycle.
You have a house, do you plan on reaffirming? (yes)
What is value of house? (he answers $165k)
How do you know value? (website)
How much did you pay and when did you buy?
Owe any domestic support?
Do you need to make any changes to petition?
No further questions
Then my turn. I'm Pro Se.
He asked me to swear in and state my name and address.
Asked if I read the petition before I signed it... (duh, I filled it out!)
Asked what I did and for who.
Asked if I had any other vehicle beside what was in petition
Asked if I expected a tax refund this year. (no)
Quickly went over bank accounts (I am joint account holder on someone elses account and custodian for son's account) He just asked why was I on someone elses account.
Asked if I needed to make any changes to the petition
Asked if I owed domestic support to anyone
No further questions.. free to go.
Walah! Done!
