    Central District: Riverside, California

I have a 341 scheduled for November 12 and I am looking for anyone who has had a 341 in Riverside willing to share their experience. Even better, did anyone have Pringle as their trustee and willing to share?

I'm really thinking about going down to the courthouse to watch him in action, but how do I find out when he will be in session?

I think you should be able to call the court where the 341s take place and ask about his schedule, see if you can sit in and observe. I noticed in some of the posts in the 341 section that some people have to wait outside their actual meeting rooms until they are called because of size limitations. Hopefully that won't be the case in Riverside. If you go observe, come back and tell us all about it!

        Freedomnow7,

Thanks for the link to your 341 experience. That was very interesting and has helped to put me at ease. I, too, am pro se. I think we have a pretty easy bk case as there aren't any assets. I'll report how my 341 goes once it's over. Thanks again.

            Hey freedom,

I haven't had my 341 yet. I'll be going next Friday 11/12 in the afternoon. I'll definitely post about my experience. It's funny, I'm not nervous yet, but I'm sure I will as it gets closer.

              freedom,

Did you get a letter from the trustee before the 341 asking for tax returns or other documents? I haven't received anything and when I called his office, I was told to read the back of the court papers. The court papers just say bring ss card and drivers license. I see you say the trustee asked for your tax return at the 341. I just want to get it right since I'm pro se, I don't want any reason for problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh yes, yes, yes, definitely bring your most recent tax returns (I'd do two years just to be on the safe side), three months of banks statements AND your entire BK petition (all pages) in addition to your SS Card and your Driver's License. Now, I admit that is being over-prepared, but when that trustee gave me a thumbs up when I told him that I had my tax returns, after he had just sent one lady home to get hers, that was a GOOD feeling! AND, I even sent the Trustee a copy of all of this stuff in the mail, with delivery confirmation that they did receive it, but he asked for it anyway. As a pro se filer, it feels good to be prepared.

Also, no matter how much people told me not be nervous, I was a nervous wreck. Trust me girl, it's just wasted energy. You'll be in and out so fast you won't even know what hit you. When your name is called, make sure you walk up with good energy and confidence like you OWN that room and speak LOUD so that the whole room can hear you, LOL. It'll make you less nervous because he's just going to ask the basic questions anyway. And, when you walk away from that table DO NOT LOOK DOWN...make eye contact with a fellow BK filer and smile (even wink perhaps) because that will make someone else who may be nervous calm down a bit.

Thank you for the info. I would rather be over prepared. That's why I ask all of these questions. I will definitely bring all of the paperwork you mentioned. Your post made me smile. Thanks! I will be a proud bk'er and hold my head up with confidence. Great advice as usual.

What an inspirational post. We should all be strutting out of our 341s. Love this, free.

I had my 341 today and I wasn't nervous one bit thanks to freedom. You shared your experience with me and I was truthful on my petition so I just felt I had no reason to be nervous. I was right. It took all of a minute if that.

I had maybe 10 people go before me and they all were uneventful. The trustee asked everyone some basic questions: Did you read bk schedules and understand them? Did you sign the bk petition? Did you list all your assets? Did you list all your creditors? He then scanned the 1st page of our income tax returns and said, "Let the record reflect that I have looked over the 2009 income tax returns and I am returning them along with the i.d. and ss. card. I have no further questions."

That was it and we were on our way. Woohoo!

Mommi - See, nothing to it! So now you can go and pay it forward to someone else on this board, you veteran you. :-)

I'm sooo happy to hear that it went well. Easy peasy, right?

We had our 341 today in Riverside as well. Glad to say it was just as uneventful as yours. Trustee asked us the same questions, and that was it. In and out in less than 2 minutes. Such a great feeling to have that overwith.
