Cleavage always helps at the � 341 meeting and just make the world a nicer place all around.

In fact, 11 U.S.C. 522 (r)(17) clearly states that: "for each female debtor age 40 and under who wears clothing to the � 341 meeting of creditors that displays 50 percent or more of said debtor's breasts, there shall be an additional wildcard exemption of $1000 (provided said breasts are size C cup); $2000 (provided said breasts are D cup) and $5000(provided said breasts are DD or better)". B cups and senior citizens are out of luck.

'Hub had a dress shirt and slacks with sports jacket, no tie. I had a dressy solid colored blouse and black slacks with black shoes. This is 'business casual' for our area, though a polo type shirt would have worked for 'Hub. We did not know at the time. We were probably the best dressed there.

Just be sensible about your attire, and if you have any fancy jewelry--even costume--or other falderal--just leave it home. This not the time to 'show off'.

I agree with AngelinaCat...our attorney informed us to dress as if we were going to the office and the office did not mean the dressing room of the Chippendales or the local gentlemen's club. This is not the time to draw attention to yourself as this is all business, not pleasure. Six pack abs or cleavage will not change monetary figures on one's paperwork. Be professional, dress business casual.

I dressed business casual, no tie, to each of my 341 Meetings. I noticed everything from jeans and shorts, to business casual with a tie. In my courtroom appearances, however, I always wore a suit. I was mistaken for an attorney many times, even by the marshals manning the x-ray machines. They always asked for my Bar ID when I brought my laptop in. Strange.

funnies aside...i agree, however, it does depend on what part of the country you are in. when we filed in florida we would have never worn the same "casual" business dress that we would in the north east...never.

excellent point about the jewelery if you have some...i sold my wedding ring a year before to pay bills...(i got it, or better stated, it was given to me... on our 30th wedding anniversary...and actually i would have rather rec'd cookies...)...so i only had a simple band left so it was not a big deal for me. but dress respectful, i believe that is the key here ...whatever part of the county you are in.

Lol... well, I missed the memo on cleavage, maybe that would have helped. I wore dress slacks and a blouse. My experience was the same as everyone else's, wide variety. From shorts and flipflops to suits. I will say my trustee seemed a tad bit impatient with anyone who was too flippant, including in dress. I think as long as you show respect in what you wear it'll be fine. FWIW, I often have to go to court for my job (different kind of court) and I always wear slacks, not a skirt.

Me i remember the last time i meet my trustee i wore my cowboy hat and my Giordano long sleeve, with a choker..

no comments i got from the meeting, it depends how respectful you are, and i think everybody does that on formal..

Had my 341 today and I wore new casual shoes and new black jeans with black shirt.
I think I overdressed lol.
There were people there wearing jogging pants and gym shoes and most were wearing blue jeans also.

LOL!! nope they don't...come on...you know that......where jeans and a CLEAN polo shirt.

Dress nice enough to show respect, but make sure that the UST will be better dressed than you. If you are pro se, dress nicer than if you have an attorney. Don't wear new clothes, or very expensive ones, but wear something clean and in good condition. Go with solid, subdued colors. Don't wear a tie.

i don't really get some people going into the hearing rooms....woman's nails all done.....hair what do you call that when it's got different shades....and i'm a woman...and don't even know...LOL!! but know it cost money....and rings and necklaces...oh my and then go up in front of the trustee saying you don't have enough money to pay your bills...but DO to do your nails??? ( i got married in my jeans over 40 years ago...so i have been basically low maintenance...i guess).
