All,
I have waited pretty close to a year to be able to finally have my chance to share my experience with my 341 meeting. Well the day finally came and went and I can say that for me it was very easy. We did sit in on a few before us and when it came to our turn we were at ease since we knew what questions were going to be asked. When we did have our chance to speak it was just so easy. I have to say that our trustee was without question very polite and in my opinion treated us with respect. I didn't feel like he was "looking down" on us at all. We were honest with our answers and we made sure we looked him straight in the eye at all times. I have to say there were a few who went before us that I honestly could not believe the nerve of them with their dishonesty to the trustee. One woman stated she had never filed for bankruptcy before when in fact the trustee's assistant brought it up that she did in deed file for bankruptcy back in 1999! One gentleman was trying to use the monthly payment on a home that had recently foreclosed! He was also unemployed but was using $1000 gas allowence on a car that he wasn't even traveling in at the time of filing. I can see why those that try to file for bankruptcy in an honest way must pay the price for those that are so dishonest by the way of being scrutinized by the trustee. All in all I'm very happy with the way my meeting went and only hope that those of you who are waiting for your 341 will go as smoothly as ours did. I so look forward to my discharge!
