It went better than I thought it would. We did have a couple issues. The first one being that my husband did not bring his social security card! So because of that, our meeting was continued until July 23 because that is when our trustee has his next hearing scheduled. We dont actually have to be at that hearing, my husband just needs to fax in a copy of his card. Also, the only other issue with our paperwork was that I didnt put anything on Schedule C for exemptions. The trustee was very nice and understanding and said that he thought we'd intend to keep both of our exempt vehicles, so I just needed to ammend that and he has no other issues. He didnt ask us any questions about our business. He had no problems with how I sold a car in April for $18K and turned around and bought a car for $6k. Didnt even ask where the rest of the money went.
Everyone there was dressed casual. Most everyone was pro se, there were only 2 attorneys in our group of 6 in the hearing.
Im very happy to have that over with, but I do have to say that since we have this continuation, I am annoyed with my husband! Oh well. Does anyone know what that means for our discharge date? Will it set us back another 30 days or will we still get discharged on Aug 23 like we were expecting?
This forum has been soooo helpful to me. Thank you so much for everyone here that answered all of my questions. It really did set my mind at ease, and make me feel empowered enough to handle this on my own, without an attorney.
