It would be best to do a search on 341's and you will find the consensus is, if your forms are correct and there is no "hanky-panky" so to speak, it will last about six minutes. Read all the stickies regarding your chapter of course. Being fairly new here, Welcome! 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here??Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.
I had my 341 meeting in downtown Portland. I know it sounds easy, but DON'T WORRY! The room is downtown on Main Street (not in the Courthouse). They are open to the public, so once I got the name of my trustee, I looked up his docket online and went down one day to listen to the questions he asked and how he treated the debtors. I really suggest you do this. It completely put my mind at ease. Then, when my day came, he asked the same questions (imagine that!) In addition to the standard questions, he just asked how I came up with my home value and if I thought it would sell for more than what I listed.
I decided to reaffirm my car for a couple different reasons and will post on that experience separate.
Feel free to PM me for once you get your trustee and I'll help any way I can!
Filed 11-4-09
Discharged 4-26-10 (took 3k out of a 4k tax return. Who cares! $55k in debt went away!)
