Creative Cover Stories for Your 341 Meeting?

What creative stories did you come up with to cover your time away at the 341? Ours is located about 1 1/2 hours away so I need a good story for family that doesn't know we are filing. Dentist appt would almost work, but I've got to take my wife, obviously. No one would believe that she went with me to the dentist, for moral support

It's only my opinion but: Family will find out sooner or later. As a genealogist, and skip tracer, I can find most people very easily and within an hour, learn much about their past and habits.

Wouldn't it be easier just to "come clean" as really it is no body's business than you and your wife's.

You would feel a lot better about total honesty.

Oh my goodness, I forgot about that. Old age is affecting me! LOL!

DeadManCrawling's reason is also a true statement. Just give the concept (true but decidedly misleading) some thought and you'll come up with something that works for your particular situation.

Dentist or some other medical appt. would work if there's anesthesia or some other drug involved that might make it unsafe (from their liability point of view!) to get back home alone. My family's had a few medical things where the doctor's office wanted someone to be there to take the patient home again.

Excellent idea. I also like the financial planner idea - there is some truth to that one. The story applies more to our 8 year old daughter, 23 year old daughter, since my wife takes care of our granddaughter (must find alternate care that day), and (possibly)friends at work. None of the family have any reason to know, and knowing would only cause them to worry. Thanks to all for the great suggestions.
