Which spouse answers the TT questions

When at the 341 meeting and we are being asked these questions, who should answer them? My wife might answer in a different way. For example, did you give anything away in the last year? well we didn't give it away , but sold the item . It would come out of her mouth differently than how I would answer. So can I answer all the questions or does the TT want us to both answer them simultaneously. Seems kind of strange.

I answered some, she answered others, it all depended on who had the best/most complete information.

As long as both of you're truthful, there will be no problems.

It was the same for us. The trustee was happy to have either of us answer. Though ours wasn't grumpy.

Generally, 'Hub answered most of the questions, but there were some that I answered. Example: "Who gets Social security?" 'Hub answered that one as he does. "Who gets the Unemployment Compensation?" I do, so I answered that one.

As long as you are both on the same page, and honest, you won't have any problems.

In my 341 meeting both husband and wife was required to answer. I try to answer first because I have more knowledge and complete info compared to my wife.

JJ, same at the one I attended. I do not have a spouse, but I was able to observe a dozen or so husband/wife 341s. In ALL of those, both responded to the questions.

Again, most questions are "yes" "no" questions, so both simply responded "yes" or "no."

And I will add to Buttercup's advice, answer 'yes' or 'no' as required. Do NOT volunteer any un-asked for information.

We both had to answer yes/no to every question.

There was a couple that required a slightly longer answer when the question was kind of multiple choice, like "do you receive or are you eligible to receive any bonuses, something, something, or something.". I had to answer that yes, I receive a quarterly bonus. The attorney added that the average bonus was factored in to my monthly income on my schedules.

But mostly just yes and no. It was kind of confusing about who would speak first since we didn't really go over that.

In our 341, Florida Middle in Tampa, I answered every question except the first few, which we both answered. Those were the standard questions, identity, did you read the schedules, etc.

For all the more detailed areas, my wife didn't answer anything. She hadn't studied the law nearly as much as I had, and would have been prone to overexplaining. Simple yes or no is the best answer. If the question does not allow yes or no, then be as brief and clear as possible. It worked well for us, and good luck in yours.

Its just that I was the wage earner and my wife takes care of the child and home. I did all the collection of almost all the paperwork and when we were with our attorney I did almost all of the explaining. Its not an issue of being truthful which we have nothing to hide, its an issue of who can better explain questions if they are asked beyond a yes and no and that would be me. I would prefer to answer all the questions and my wife can ditto the responses.

I haven't had our 341 yet, but my attorney said that the trustee in our district would request that one of us answer all of the questions. Obviously, he could ask the other a direct question, but he prefers one person to be the speaker. I guess it just depends on the Trustee.

We were specifically told by our atty. Yes or NO ONLY unless asked for more info., and to answer together. Our trustee was kinda old school.
Didn't want to hear, or care about our story.

Me and myself and I answered all of our questions simultaneously and thankfully all of my personalities agreed on everything, for once.
