WOW, from FL here. That is a gross amount to me. NO the Trustee will not question the legitimacy of your rent if it is in the realm of the rent average in your area. A $1600 rental in California (especially socal) is not beyond the realm of normal or reasonable. They aren't going to blink at that amount, they aren't going to question who you are paying. If it makes you feel better, get a listing of what is typical in your area and bring it with you.
I don't know where they get IRS standards, but they have no actual basis in reality.
Hub, our rental market is actually going through the roof right now. Lots of foreclosures and you have to live somewhere...Comment
