I can't believe no-one's brought up this book.
Maybe it's outta print, but if you can find it -- saving ideas galore!
The author factors in EVERYTHING on costs... the trip to the store, the foil you use, the energy to store it, on and on. She even factors in the energy used to bake the bread!
Lotsa tips on how to save moolah.
heh. Despite knowing all this stuff, I let making good money interfere with my thrifty upbringing. Some of it stuck, however, even thu-out my extraordinary spending during the good times and the fall afterward.
It is kind of a challenge to see if I can save more and cut back more and yet not compromise my overall quality of living at this point, tho. I sure id get used to Tbone when we were making $200k+, tho.
Maybe I will re-learn to appreciate those things, instead.
I know I really CRAVE sushi these days. I USED TO eat it about once or twice week!
She has several items that I do instinctively, still, and never gave up, believe it or not. Scot tissue for us. Cheaper per roll is not always cheaper. We always pay less per week/month by going with Scott. The same with better paper towels - you pay more, but just use less over time.
BTW - I love being reminded of ways to save that had gone by the wayside!
I am DETERMINED to fully recover from this mess!!!!
