I came across a bank last night that offers decient interest rates, and no fees. I'm going to do some detailed resrach before I post the information. I don't want any of my BK brothers and sister getting ripped off because of something i recommedmed. I will post full information once I know more.

ING Direct currently has a rate of 4.40%. No minimums. No fees. FDIC insured. I love it.

What kind of accounts with AG Edwards? I'm looking at their web site, but I don't see a savings account that offers 4.40%. ING Direct is a savings account, not an investment. You can't ever lose money with it.

I have both a Traditional and a Roth IRA, plus a savings account

            10/10/10 Method

Give 10% Away (to a local church)
            Save 10%
            Invest 10%

Do all of these before you pay one bill, or spend a single penny.

I learned this from (web link removed) and it has worked for me.

I was wondering specifically what kind of savings account you have with AG Edwards. ING Direct is a savings account. It's just like a regular brick and mortar passbook savings account but it pays a higher interest rate. There's no income level or amount restriction, and it's not an investment like an IRA is.

I looked at ING Direct and it looks like their savings account only seems to pay 1.40% Where are you seeing 4.40%? That would be awesome in this economy!

The originator of this post started this thread back in 2006. I don't doubt the yields were 4% back then. Rates like that have been hard for me to find nowadays.
