    OK so here's a quick update on my "loser" log;

I applied for an auto loan thru USAA and was approved "conditionally" for $7500 @ 11% interest but a co-signer is required, because I had all the neg. accts and PR removed from my EQ report, I basically have no credit which actually it is not a problem since I can get someone to co-sign for me, but do you guys recommend that? I was thinking to have the other party on the loan for 6 months then ask for a reconsideration to see if I can be the only party on the loan. Advice please?

Also I applied for a Juniper US Airways card and was told I'll receive a decision in 7-10 days (denial probably)

I applied for Hooters and was told to see above ^^^^^^^

Finally I applied for a Target card and was approved , although I'm not sure for which the Guest card or Visa, it's a start right?

So all together there are 6 inquires (Circuit City, USAA X 2, Juniper, Hooters and Target) in 6 days and so far 1 1/2(USAA) approvals.

Pink Amulet I'm going to register with Truecredit tonight to keep track so I'll let you know how that goes.

Cindylynnsmith thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much for the advice and encouragement, I was really feeling like a loser prior to this thread. Now I'm starting to see the glimmer of light at the end of that tunnel.

OK I just joined truecredit and my scores are kinda dissapointing since my fico scores were much higher

      FICO: TransUnion: 609, Equifax: 647, Experian: 640

      TRUECREDIT: Equifax: 655, Transunion: 580, Experian: 550

My # of neg accounts are correct with the exception of EX which states I have 1 neg when there should be none (EX sent me a copy of my report dated 8/8 that showed everything had been removed) should I be worried?

Also it states my scores are low due to, too many inquires but it says over the past 2 years

So my question is should I dispute what's on this truecredit website or what appears on my fico report? Also which score are the creditors going by truecredit's or fico?

TrueCredit is run by TransUnion. They have a link to submit corrections on the TrueCredit site; however, they are actually sending you to the other CA's sites. I believe the creditors never really see the true credit scores and only see the fico ones.

I was denied for Juniper due to:

Low available credit on existing credit card(s)
          Low access to credit
          Low number of satisfactory accounts

how long did it take to get the denial from Juniper. I applied both myself and hubby on friday and got a 7-10 days reply. I checked earlier and still says same thing. I agree with the comment earlier about the Hooter card...lol. I actually use it as a gas card.....so no one has to see it. Also, geturdone, on Truecredit you can update every 24 hours. you click on update report/score in the right hand column and follow the links. It does not automatically update. And its EXACTLY 24 hours. If its less it won't update. You know whats funny? I CAN'T get a Target card. They denied me twice. Go figure!! Never know. You are now on a good road. Let these couple of cards you have ride. You will see your score improve. On hooter, for both me and hubby it said 7-10 days, but we both got cards..so keep your finger crossed. Also, what is on Truecredit report is pretty accurate, in my opinion and experiance. Click on the account and look at the date updated. Its possible its new. If you dispute it and its not on there it won't hurt. When I bought my car my truecredit score were pretty right on. Some say they aren't but so far for me have been. Keep us posted!!

I applied for Juniper teh same time as you Friday evening and I checked the status yesterday and was told I'll be receiving my letter in the mail in 7-10 days but I was also able to view the letter online.

Here' the link for Juniper (right under the log-in info there's a tab to check your app. status)

So you think I should dispute what's on the true credit report EX report even though it wasn't on the report 8/8? I just don't want to re-ruffle those feathers over there considering I got everything I wanted from them without too much of a hassle.

Oh BTW: The Target I was approved for is the Redcard (store use only) and my limit is $200

I was sent an email that they need more information to process my app with Juniper...which will be sent to me via mail. About the disputes......the account was probably added since Aug. 8th. I would dispute. If its not there they will send a letter back to stating that no such account exists on your credit report. No harm done. I've disputed accounts by accident for experian that were on equifax and I just got a letter.

Just a quick update I went into Circuit City today and on "let's see what happens" I was approved for their store card with a $3000 limit.

But Hooters denied me and in my Wal-Mart denial letter it stated the reason as "unable to verify phone number" so I called to see what the problem was and they could'nt find my app. in their system & asked me would I like them to run a new app. I stated yes, only to have the rep tell me I would receive something in the mail in 5-7 days.

I did not find Hooters to be BK friendly at all. I applied with them and was denied. In my humble opinion, if you are paying timely on a vehicle and or a mortgage outside of your BK, then you might get approved but if you do not have any friendly trade lines, it might be tough sledding to get much of anything at first except an Orchard or a First Premier card. They do have awful fees but for some of us without positive tradelines outside of the BK, it is the only way to get going again.

What I don't understand is, why do you want to get right back onto this never ending treadmill? Start putting money into a savings account and don't buy anything until you have the money saved up. We all got into this mess, because our spending habits SUCKED. I don't think there is any shame in going through a bankruptcy, as long as we use it as a learning experience in the U of Hard Knocks. CASH RULES! Why do you think banks and stores give you credit??? They suck you dry, legally rob you blind with your permission.

The sad thruth is that we will all need to have good credit or available credit at some point! Its a slippery slope either way, but I do think its smart and responsible to restablish yourself in the financial industry IF and only IF you can do it without getting back into the same situation as before. So if you choose to remain with cash because that's whats right for you and I choose to open credit cards and buy a new car, then neither are wrong as long as we are doing the correct thing for ourselves.

I'm in agreement here with you on this EmmaT~
While I do understand that you need to build credit~ at this point, I really don't care WHAT my CS is or FICO either.....and AFTER my chapter 13 I intend on NOT having much credit, if any, available to me....I can use my debit card which acts like a VISA, but goes through my checking account, that way unless I have the money in my account, I'd BETTER NOT use it....no it doesn't build my credit back, but hey~ I had a flawless CR up until this past July~ so, they can look at that part~ and look at my secured debt that I am still paying and will be paying on, if that's not good enough, oh well, I guess I'll just have to SAVE the money to buy a home....car...whatever~
I plan on NOT using CC after my BK.....it's the same as an alcoholic...they should NOT walk home by way of the local bar....but through the woods....I WON'T use the CC because I can't seem to handle it......just use my checking account/savings .....

I think its important to remember that everyone came by their BK in different ways. Some because of uncontrollable circumstances, some by way of misuse of credit, and some by way of a combination of both. SOOO....it also important to remember that because we all came by this a different way, we will all also cope and recover differently. I however, do stand by my comment that we will all need our credit at some point. It is very unreasonable to think that you will always be able to pay cash for large purchases such has cars and homes. Rebuilding credit does not necessarily mean the use of credit cards.(although it is a good way to establish a responsible credit history) It means different things for different folks and we all know and recognize our limits. For me personally this site has been EXREMELY helpful for gaining the know-how of rebuilding credit. Knowing which cards to get, etc. I am happy and proud to report that out of 3500.00 available on the credit cards that I currently have (and have had most of them for the greater part of this year), I only have about 400 balance, which is travel expenses I am awaiting reimbursement from my job for recent travel. I look forward to continuing to learn from others on this site.
