Once again I've done too much reading that I can't keep a grasp on what I'm taking in.
Quick question (or two)....
After ordering a 3 in 1 report last night....
1) I just mailed out (certified) 10 (yes, TEN) dispute letters to our creditors today. 90% of them reported late payments almost throughout our whole bk. I've got Charge Offs/Profit Loss/Writeoff, etc. etc. instead of mentioning the bankruptcy.
My question is... Are they legally obligated to delete this whole file off my report now that they filed negligently like they did? I did not demand this in my letters to them although now I'm wondering if I should have? Do I have any legal recourse for those who really screwed my credit up by reporting late throughout the whole bk?
2) There are a few creditors that state under their debt that I filed BK in different months than I actually did. Of hand I can remember one said Dec. 05, another May 06 (!!) and another I believe was Nov. 05 when in actuality I filed Oct. 17th, 2005. What, if any, is my recourse?
I ordered my 3 in 1 through Identity Guard, which to be honest I was not impressed with at all but I was going to post that on a sep. thread.
I called to see if I could get my money back today and after talking with them - the lady said legally my creditors who reported incorrect data throughout my bk (or continue to after its been discharged) are legally responsible for deleting the file altogether. She then told me they do have the right to go back and report the whole thing the correct way after deleting it, which will in essence bring my score down again.
She confused me more than anything and figured I'd post here and get feedback from those who may understand this process better.
Thanks again!
NOTE: I should mention our BK shows discharged on all CR's as of June 5, 2006.
