Fair warning to all those that have Verizon or any other utility on thier report

Here is something that I found today. I had 2 Verizon accounts on my credit report, one was changed to IIB. The other is still showing as collection. I disputed this with all three CRA, they told me that Verizon told them that it is a valid debt. So I called Verizon and they said they have both listed as IIB. They told me to go back to the CRA's to get the information corrected. Just one more thing to add to my suite!

Funny you should mention Verizon.

We included a $1300 Verizon Wireless acct in our BK. They kept calling at the beginning of the BK but stopped after I gave them our attorney's name. They obviously also received notice from being on our Matrix.

Well, they received notice of our discharge the beg. of June 06. We immediately started receiving calls in the mid-end of July from a different collection agency representing Verizon Wireless. They called 2 or 3 times, left vm and also sent a letter dated July 28th I believe it was, attempting to collect.

When they called after the letter was sent, I informed them this was included in my bankruptcy. I asked the person's name, when Verizon sold them the acct (which was July 27th I believe), etc. etc.

We have not received a call since but from what I understand, this is clearly a violation of the law.

They also have the Pay Status reported as "Charge off as Bad Debt" with a past due balance of $1353. Remarks state, "Profit and Loss Writeoff".

I am beginning the dispute process w/ the CRA's now so we'll see what happens!
