Applied last week for both myself and my husband (seperately). His credit is slightly better (605-615) and you can see my history below. He got a card in the mail 2 days ago with $2000 limit; 23.9%; no annual fee, and I got card with $1000 limit; 29%; $48 annualy fee.... we are very happy with this; not that we are going to use them for more than 50 or so bucks a month and pay just to build credit. They actually have a note on their website stating that they are easy credit grantors!!

Target Denied me a Redcard
Hey All
Last Friday, being fresh out of BK with discharge in hand, I applied online to both Target and Hooters. For both applications I was told online that they would contact me in 7-10 days with their decision.
Well I got my denial letter in the mail from Target today. I was not surprised. Let me share their reasons for denial:
Your credit bureau indicates major past or present delinquencies and/or public records.
Your credit bureau report indicates too few satisfactory accts in proportion to total accts.
This is what they said next: We wanted to give your application every consideration so we made a second evaluation of your credit history using a different method:
A BK filing reported
The length of time accts have been established is too short
The last reason was bogus. Some of my CC's was opened back in 1999 and car loan was opened 5 years ago in 2001 and my last CC was opened in Jan 04.
They pulled the report from Equifax (In case anyone wanting to know what Credit Bureau report Target uses). Although I am a little upset because I heard that people in this forum and other forums are getting a Target card right out of BK. There is a silver lining to this cloud. Since I was turned down for credit, I can get my Equifax report for free as long as its within 60 days of the denial letter. I can start to dispute and clean up this report which will be in Mondays mail. Now I just need to work on Transunion & Experian.
I am sure my denial for Hooters will be in the mail shortly.
I still don't get how some people are getting credit right out of a BK?

Dell denied me too
Well I forgot that when I applied for Target and Hooters, I also applied for a Dell account which is covered by CIT Bank. I got my denial letter too in the mail today. They pulled my CR from Experian. The reasons why I did not score well compared to other applicants was:
Presence of past 90 day delinquency, derogatory or derogatory public record tradelines
Too few satisfactory trades
Tradeline delinquency or derogatory in the last 12 months
No open revolving lines of credit
Well just like the Target denial, at least I will be able to get a FREE copy of my Experian Report, that way I can clean this one up too.
So my request for my Free copies of reports from Experian and Equifax will be out in Mondays mail. Now I will need to work on Transunion.
So far, I haven't heard from Hooters. If they deny me too, and if they rely on Transunion at least I can request my report for free.
I still got that First Premier Application signed, but I haven't mailed it yet, I have until August 11 to reply.

I don't know if anyone on here has been approved for dell out of bk because I know they really want people with excellent credit histories. Sorry this isn't going well for you. Have you looked at all of your reports to see if anything is reporting correctly. I've been working on my credit report for 6 months and I almost everything is reporting correctly. You may want to wait or try for a small card (orchard bank or first premier) as long as none of those were included in your bk and try to get those credit reports cleaned up. Good Luck to you.Discharged 2/27/06, closed 6/1/06
