    I just don't get it....

I disputed with TU a couple months ago. When I got the response, many things were corrected, but a few were not. I sent in another dispute using the advice of the board. I used the "incorrectly coded" wording. Well, I received the response quite quickly, but there are still problems with the report.

First of all, in my original credit report, before any disputes were sent in, they have my CitiFinancial Auto in the satisfactory account list. After my first dispute, they moved my CitiFinancial account into the unsatisfactory section, and have it listed as included in ch.7. This wasn't correct, as I reaffirmed. So, with my second dispute, I asked them to correct it. Well, after receiving the results, they still haven't moved the account back into the satisfactory section, and it is still being reported as IIB. This is infuriating, as there is absolutely no negative history associated with this account.

So, now what am I to do? They never should have put the account in the negative history to begin with, and now they won't move it. Should I just go directly to CitiFinancial now and have them report correctly? I don't know how that will help when it wasn't even CitiFinancial who screwed up.

The next question is this....They have all accounts IIB reporting as such now, but most of the balance columns are blank. Shouldn't they say $0? Is it bad to have a blank in that section, or does it matter?

    I hate TU.

Maybe you should take a look into contact CitiFinancial. There might be something left in their database that isn't set properly and every month they send their data to TU and based on TUs data rules, it might be interpreting things the wrong way.

Have you looked at the three CRAs reports side by side? You notice how each of them has slightly different information which the provide in their reports--some use different terminology for status, some provide exact monthly balances for the last few years, others are more barebones. Each creditor uses their own database, each CRA has their own, and there's no way every creditor's database will match up perfectly with every CRAs database. So, the CRAs must import data that's not always in the exact format that it wants and sometimes things are "lost in the translation".

    Give CitiFinancial a try--it can't hurt.

I just got off the phone with transunion and let me tell you that they are very stupid. Well not all of them. I called and requested to speak to a supervisor. I did not got off the phone until they fixed my problems. I had sent enough documentation for them to correct my report.

MANY people on this site say to never send them information, but I tried that and got no where. Unless you want to exchange letters back and fourth and waste weeks if not months then just send them the docs to them so they can correct your credit report. I wasted 1-1/2 months until I sent them the docs and called and spoke to a supervisor.

        Thanks for the responses!

Anon....the thing is, the account was being reported correctly until my first dispute. I think I will take your advice and contact CitiFinancial and tell them TU is not reporting correctly.

Jaura....I hear what you are saying about sending documentation. I sent my BK papers with all my first disputes. I have seen on the board that some people say not to send documentation. However, when those people were asked how to respond to the CRA's if they said they couldn't complete your investigation unless you sent them documentation, nobody gave an answer. I think it is just easier to send proof. That way, your investigation will be done quicker.
