Three years after ch 7 discharge ( has it really been that long?). My credit is 696, my wife is 665. Trying to get those scores higher. We haven't been late on any payments. We have a student loan we've been paying on. We also have one $1000 limit cc from our credit union that we use a small amount and then pay off each month. My wife has a Victoria secret and Kohls card. I was turned down recently for the Amazon card online. Any suggestions what I can/should do to increase my score? How much, if any, will time by itself increase my score? Thx.

First, where do you get your scores from? Second, have you looked at all 3 of your credit reports to make sure everything is reporting correctly - BK'd accounts 0 balance included in BK?
Did you apply for the Amazon store card or the Visa? The Visa is backed by Citi, I believe, and harder to get than the store card.

As stated above, Amazon is Citi and not easy to get post-BK.
Have you tried the Capital One prequalified site? No hard pull on your credit report, but they soft pull and see if you are prequalified for one of their cards. With those scores and being 3 years post-BK, I honestly think you won't have any trouble getting a Cap One.Chapter 7, above median, no asset. Discharged with no UST involvement.

You might want to read up a bit on reports and scores. The link for the thread above, might help. Be sure and get all 3 of your reports at annualcreditreport.com (the place to get your annual free reports.)
