If you become an AU, is it considered as applying for a new credit card?

I have filled out a few CC apps (didn't pull the trigger yet) and it asked if you have applied for any credit in the last year, which I have not, been over two years.

Will the AU be considered as a new applied cc? Or just added to my credit history.

And since I would be the AU, I ass[u]me there is no hard pull or ding to my credit history since I have no hard pulls in over two years.

Did you apply for the card or did the person who added you as an authorized user apply for the card?

They did, but I wanted to make sure it doesn't count as applying for me when added.
