    GE CarCareOne

I got one of these in the mail about a week ago. I think I applied for it while getting estimates for transmission work. It's a high-rate card (29.9, I think), but with no annual fee, and six months interest-free on purchases over $299.00.

I can't think of any reason short of desperation that I'd want to actually finance anything on this card unless I planned to pay it off within the six months. However, for things like tires and car repairs that I usually pay cash for, I probably will use it and pay it off the same month, just for whatever good that might do credit-wise.

I have a CarCareOne. It can also be used at Exxon and Mobil, so you can fill your tank on it every once in awhile and keep the card alive.
