I thought I'd post this for everyone going trough the Bankruptcy process and trying to rebuild their credit.
I filed BK7 in 02/12 and discharged in 06/12.
In my bankruptcy I discharged three Capitol One cards ($7500).
Three or four times I would go to the Capitol One site and do the online pre-approval process. This doesn't count as a hard inquiry on my credit report. Each time after a few seconds the response would be sorry we don't have any offers for you.
Recently I tried again about 11 months after my discharge. This time the response came up and said congratulations we have the following cards available for you. Capitol showed me three cards to choose from. I selected one with no annual fee for 1 year and $19 per year after that. The interest rate is 23.9% which doesn't bother me since I've learned my lessons on carrying a balance..
My credit limit is $2000.....I'm very happy with that!
It will get better everyone so hang in there.
