    Very pleased with Barclaycard

I replied to a preapproved offer back in October when my FICO was in the 630 range and got 0 percent interest for 6 months and 2000 credit line. They said that they review and increase credit line after 6 months of on time payments. I am just at the start of the 6th month and they already increased it to 3000. I have been keeping a very low balance each month. I'm using it to rebuild. FICO was up to 679 in January. I'll check again in a few months to see where I am at. The annual fee was low. Don't have the info here at work, but I want to say it is 39 a year and interest will be in upper teens after 0 into rate ends.

that is awesome. we have received a few of these offers from them, and i wasnt sure how good they actually were as a company to work with. Anyone else have any feedback about this card?

Would love to hear other input too. I had done some research on here before I took the plunge because I had never heard of them. I also got an Orchard Card which was HSBS but is now becoming Capital One. They gave me one Year 0 percent interest but after over a year with perfect payments, no increase. No complaints though! They report to all 3 credit bureaus as does BarclayCard and that is my main concern.

I have a Barnes and Noble branded cc issued by Juniper which I understand is a subsidary of Barclays.
I've had it since 08 which was 3 years post bk filing. It's no fee and started with a $2K limit that's now up to $4k. Interest rate is 22.9% so you sure don't want to carry a balance.I've had no issues with them and they do report to all 3 CRA's.

juniper is barclays because when i go on line to pay by virgin american barclays card i see my OLD account that discharged in bk!! i have a 3700 line with them. apparently, they don't care and are very bk friendly. LOVE them since i fly ONLY virgin american or jet blue...and if they don't fly there i don't go there LOL!!

We were approved for Barclay two months after chapter 13 discharge for $1500 limit. So far I like it. We use it for gas and groceries and other big purchases already budgeted for. I make an online payment every Friday (payday) so we don't carry a balance and are earning points which we redeem for Lowes gift cards every time we get 2500 points($25 gift card). Their online site is easy to use and the reward gift card comes in the mail the week I redeem the points. When we applied it was through an offer in the mail and we did it online and it was instant approval. Credit score was in the low 600s.

I really like them. They are very easy to work with and my experience with their customer service has been better than some of the "prime" banks I dealt with in the past. Last December I was considering taking them up on a 0% offer I got for my apple card. I called, asked for a cl increase, they asked how much and BAM-- was immediately approved. Bear in mind my credit post BK has been exceptionally good, and I am diligent with payments. But they have been pretty awesome.

Post BK they have been the only card I have been able to get, so yeah, I like them.

I don't know what the interest rate is & don't care since I am paying it off in full every month. Just use it for things like gas/groceries or if I need to rent a car etc. Credit limit is low (around $1200) I believe but that's OK. Good to have something in case of emergencies.

Am hoping it will help rebuild my credit but am not sure that it does that. I got a "preapproved" offer recently through my credit union so I applied for that one but they turned me down because of "recent BK". They recommended I get a "secured card" but I don't see why I should bother since I already have 2 bank accounts with debit cards. Don't see the point in giving them my $$ to use as a debit when I already have that elsewhere, but maybe I do not understand.

The secured card would give you another positive trade line. Some secured cards unsecure after one year. This happened to me with my Navy Federal secured card just this month. They then approved me for another unsecured credit card and a line of credit so I now have three unsecured accounts with them that are reporting positive for all three credit bureaus. This will definitely help bring up my credit score especially if I keep my utilization low. I also got approved for an Apple Barclaycard for 0% interest or 12 months on all purchases over $999.

I've been thinking about applying for a Barclay unsecured Mastercard. My chapter 7 case was discharged in October 2012. In February I was approved for a Capital One unsecured card with $2000.00 credit line. How long after discharge did you wait before applying? Which Barclay card do you have?

                    Thanks

I waited over a year to apply for a barclaycard, but I was a "late bloomer" back into the credit game. I got the applecard because it seemed like the easiest one to get. Tbh I have yet to purchase any apple product. =s

Iswmle, did you do anything to try to build up your scores over that years time? If not, did they increase anyhow?

I only have the one card (Capital One). I will be finished paying for my car (reaffirmed the loan) in May. I won't have anyone reporting to the Bureaus except Capital One after May. I would like to open up one more credit card account to help build up my score.

I had two credit cards, both for $300, and one secured card for 1k. I had no other type of credit (car payment, house payment, loan, etc), just the credit cards. I was making timely payments, kept my utilization low, and never been late or even carried a balance. My AAoA was about 9 months. They approved me on the spot for $1200, then later increased it to $2500 at my request (also on the spot).

I am one year post 13 discharge. I got a Merrick Bank secured last summer. I don't like hard hits on my credit, so I have been very apprehensive about applying for a new card. My credit karma score was 679 and tonight I saw an ad for the Barclay card. I have read posts on this forum about the card and Credit Karma said my odds were good. I hesitantly filled out the online app and I was approved for a 1500 limit. I had been wanting an unsecured card and was happy to have been approved. It's just another step in rebuilding the credit. I learned my lesson along time ago about credit cards and have no desire to get into debt again. Rebuilding my credit is now one of my main hobbies.

I wanted to add that I pulled all my credit reports this month and none of them showed a hard inquiry. I responded to the pre-approved offer back in Oct., so I would think that should still show as an inquiry at this point. Perhaps
A pre-approved offer only shows as a soft pull. Just something I am curious about. I plan to check my FICO in another month or two to see how it is coming along. I am keeping my utilization super low.
