It might do a soft pull for the "pre-approval", but if you accept the offer and complete the application, it does the hard pull. Just my thought.

I was just wondering because the behavior I described appears to be how CapitalOne does their offers. I was just wondering how Tobee could get a "hard inquiry" alert... but maybe it was actually a soft? Who knows! Stranger things have certainly happened.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

i really don't care that much. but i just thought i should mention it because i got notified by credit karma of the hard hit.
jb, no it said you had a HARD inquiry. so, i took that for a hard hit as opposed to a "soft" one? they sent me an email (lol, one i got jb ). just a notification stating my credit has had a hard inquiry?8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

And you didn't fill out anything that looked like a credit application? I think the only thing it asks for when you do it is like to confirm your birthday and the last 4 digits of your social. Sorry to hear you got a hard though.... I've never heard of anyone getting a hard for doing that.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

i had to do my address, if i remember correctly, phone number and the last 4 digits of my ss and i can't remember what else. but apparently, it was credit karma who notified me of the hard inquiry.8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

Heh, yea tobee that happens to me sometimes too.
Sometimes I get a credit alert when it tells me that I have a new credit application... which isn't necessarily a hard. But I guess its a moot point... you shoulda took it since you might have gotten a hard for it! Was a decent limit for a Comenity card.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

funny, i pulled all three reports each were about 30 pages, not one late payment on anything in 40 years except our mortgage. i paid our cc's up until the last minutes so they couldn't report past due. cool, no judgement, liens ....the bk looks out of place.
all three of them listed at least 5 pages of "good" credit and one paragraph about the bk information. also a listed accounts IIB, but said they would be dropping off in 14, 15, and 16...???? i thought they would stay on until the bk dropped?8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

No, the accounts are independant of the public record. They will fall off naturally based on the dates on the individual trade lines.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

they say there is no difference between a voluntary surrender or a re po...well, then why do that have separate categories then. like you giving it back is "nicer" than them having to come get it forcefully. i would like that counts for a cent LOL!8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

Was the voluntary surrender a car that was included in your bankruptcy - like did you do a ride through? If so, then it won't show up on your report at all ... should just be the original trade line that says included in bankruptcy.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.
