    Barclays questions

I got the pre-approved offer in the mail for the rewards card the other day and am thinking about applying. I've heard that barclays is very nit-picky and will decrease your credit line or close your account for things like too many inquiries, etc. Most people say not to apply for anything else within 6 months of opening a barclays account because of this.

I was planning on trying to refinance my car next month, and I also wanted to close a cap1 card I have. Do you think barclays would have an issue with that? Plus, I would hate to close the cap1, and then barclays close my account and end up with NO cards. I'm trying hard to rebuild my score and don't want any negative action on my report.

What is you guys opinion of this card? Is it worth having? I tend to not carry a balance, so the high APR doesn't really concern me. The only thing I use my cap1 for is online purchases, travel purchases, stuff like that and I always pay it off asap.

I think I'd focus on what could save me money and not worry about a credit score.
First priority should be refi the car. Let the inquiry for the car loan age 6 months or better and then appy for the Barclays card.

I plan to refinance the car no matter if I apply for the card or not. Also, I'm wanting to close the Cap1 card because they refuse to waive the annual fee. I've been looking for a card to replace it and this one showed up in the mail yesterday. I like Cap1. They're easy to use, never had a problem with their site, so forth. I've had this card ever since my bk was discharged (two years now) and paid on time and in full every month. You would think they would consider waiving the fee or converting me to a different card, but so far I get a big N-O.

I would refinance first then apply. Last December I applied for a place to rent and the following next applied for Barclay card and was approved. This month they offered 0% balance transfer good to August 2013. No problem with the card so far.

As far as Cap1 is concerned you should call back and ask for a manager to waive the annual fee. I did it 2 years in a row now and got $39 fee credited back.

        Good luck
