Removing BANKRUPTCY early from credit report.

I did a search on google on "how to remove bankruptcy from credit report" and a bunch of companies, mostly attorneys came up. They all claim they can remove it from the report.

Has anyone been successful using these kinds of services or any others? And did anyone here used Lexington Law company and got good results?

    Thank you

I don't have any experience with this, but I have heard that it is a scam. It's just what I've heard.

Getting it removed can be super easy or super impossible. Depends if you get lucky. I would NOT use a service to do it. As the other poster mentioned, they are mostly scams. People have used attorneys to do it... but I personally wouldn't spend the money.

You can try disputing it with the credit bureaus... if its been a long time and you have like a year or two left on it...some people have been successful as disputing as "obsolete". Other people have been successful in finding something wrong with how it is listed on the credit report and disputing based on that. A lot of times they will just verify that the public record is valid and ignore you. Or they will make the correction to it and be done with it. Other people have kept at it and sending dispute after dispute...

I personally have not been held back by it being on my report and do not waste the effort trying to get it removed. It can also throw up fraud alerts on your credit report if you start disputing things like this.

Some people have been successful getting it removed but the majority that I have seen on the forums have not had much luck.

Mostly a scam. There is nothing special they do to get it removed.

Historically, if you waited 18 months, then submitted a dispute, the court would not verify because the record was archived...but I don't know that it is still possible to do it that way.

Basically, you continually dispute until there is a failure to verify. Or, you dispute if there is some inaccuracy in what is being reported. But as was pointed out, the entry usually gets verified or the error fixed.

Lexington Law has been discussed in here quite frequently - have you done a search on this forum? I have seen many past postings with your same question - basically it is a waste of money - the only thing that really eliminates a bankruptcy filing is time.

The courts do not verify anything. The bureaus outsource this function. The outsourcing firms verify via public records and a have a host of other databases they use.

I agree with Amy...it is a crap shoot. I have seen them get removed and i've seen them not get removed. Over 90% get verified and remain. Chances go up for them to delete if it's better than 5 years old.

Amy is right--a BK really is no big deal. It just narrows your selection a bit of who you should apply to for credit.

Thanks. I will try disputing it in a few years.
