    Well, that was easy......

I posted here over the weekend about getting ready to apply for a Capital One card. I went on their website, did the "pre-qual" little thing they do and BAM! My husband and I both got approved for the Platinumn card...$19 annual fee after the first year( Which I am ok with) and a $500 limit. He plans to use his for gas...his company will reimburse. I plan to maybe charge one thing a month, to start re-establishing our credit. I honestly do not plan on applying for any other cards...until I get offers maybe down the road from AMEX or Discover (big IF). Even then, I am going to be extremely careful. I promise to never go down "That" road again...(credit card debt) I still have student loan debt that I'd like to get a grasp on. Im paying back some of them already..others are in deferment. Im in a good place...and I love the way this feels....

      Hey Sassiebaz

I applied last April for a Cap1 got a rewards card 500 limit w/ a 9 month 0% after 6 month of use, only charging what I could afford to pay back - I think I carried a balance one month I got a 250 credit increase. As I come up to my one year I am wondering if they will increase again, but this month I have been receiving "pre-approvals" from Citi whom I BKed, I am happy where I am right now so I view it as I must be doing something right.

      Good Luck

Strangely enough, I just applied for a car loan on capital one's website...also got approved! Going to really be careful and take my time finding something just right for my family and our budget.

AMEX will never give you a cc with a B. Discover would be a long shot but someone here did say they got one once.
