I would go crazy if I monitored my credit daily! I just don't have that much patience. Every once in awhile I'll go update credit karma but it hasn't changed since I filed and I really don't have anything to build credit until I am discharged 3 years from now. I doubt mine will change much in the next 3 years.
    Filed 11/17/11 Chapter 13, 341 meeting 12/21/11. Plan confirmed 1/19/12 - DISCHARGED 12/16/15

Orchard Bank has purely low-credit products. So the fact someone with 'good' credit was offered a secured card doesn't really mean anything. I'm pretty sure its not possible for Orchard to offer a Prime or almost Prime card.

The card pre-selector does a soft pull, much like what credit card companies can access to send out marketing offers. (To anyone who has not opted out.) Does not actually create an application unless you proceed with it.

What kind of income verification does Orchard do, if any? (If anyone knows...)
Filed non-consumer no asset Chapter 7 on 7-12-10 after 4 foreclosures, 7 lawsuits including 2 deficiencies, 2 wage garnishments, a bank garnishment and a partridge in a pear tree. 341 held on 8-11-10. Discharge 11-4-10.

Hmph. I also did the Orchard card selector and it said "Platinum unsecured." Then I did the actual application and I'm not approved for ANYTHING. Not even a secured card! I followed a link from my Creditkarma profile to get to the Orchard card selector.

You're right, the card selector isn't very accurate. I suppose I get a free Equifax report out of it, at least.

They don't do any income verification. At least to my knowledge.
