    Buying a Mattress

Hey Yall! I am nearing the end of my chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Thank God! Now I need to buy a new mattress. Is there a good place to go in Georgia that is bankruptcy friendly? I would like to buy it and pay it off in 90 days....

Are you discharged yet? It might be easier for you to save for 90 days and then buy one for cash. Not sure how soon you need a mattress but you might be hard pressed to find someone to extend credit to you so soon out of bankruptcy. 90 days isn't too bad to save for one. I looked at mattresses a while back. They sure are a spendy piece of necessary furniture!
    Filed 11/17/11 Chapter 13, 341 meeting 12/21/11. Plan confirmed 1/19/12 - DISCHARGED 12/16/15

I totally agree. Put a piece of scrap paneling between the box spring and old mattress. It saved us from buying a new one for years as it became so much more comfortable than what we had. If you are seriously about a new start, as Mountanddo implied, start practicing right now. NO CREDIT. 'Hub

P.S. we have been discharged for some time and except for a loan from my brother for a good used car, we have not gone into any kind of debt.
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Have you thought of ShopNBC.com, they offer Value Pays (3-6 payments, that are interest free) you can use your debit card (as long as it is a V, or MC). I bought a Sealy several years ago and they offer a great value for the money, free shipping, set-up and hauling away of you old mattress set!

Did you have any problems with this? I see they offer that you can pay with paypal which you can attach a debit card to. Would this be considered "use of credit" while you are in a Chapter 13 and would you need your trustee's approval?

The first time I used Value Pay it was a soft credit inquiry, and that was pre-bk, I have ordered a few nice watches over the past year and no inquiry. I agree if they are in Chapter 13 that is a whole different animal (no credit unless the Trustee grants permission or discharged). I believe the OP stated a Chapter 7, and was waiting for discharge.
