    Checked my FICO Score

I checked my FICO score today, 2 months after CH7 discharge and my Experian FICO was 641. How does this core stand up?
    5/9/11 - Filed CH7 - No Asset
    7/1/11 - 341 Meeting
    9/1/11 - Discharged; 9/22/11 Case Closed

sounds good! however, and i don't want to rain on your parade, but most all who extend credit many times do not care about your scores if they are sitting next to a bk. we are in the 700's now, and have 20 pages of perfect credit, it's that great BIG BK on there that seems to be the problem.

time will help. the more distance between you and your discharge and closed date the better it will get credit wise i'm sure. just hold on, it will happen

It just depends on what you are trying to do. That 641 isn't going to help you to buy a house because of requirements of aging post-BK. However, it might help you get a CC (don't do it!) or a car loan (try not to do it!). My scores I just checked are 660 and 662, 2 years post BK which is about 20-25 points higher than my lows of around 635-640. My wife is having much quicker progress as she is over 700 now at 702. Not sure why, but it is what it is. The bottom line is that right now you should not be even thinking about anything you would need a credit score for. Concentrate right now on paying bills on time and buying things you NEED with CASH. That's the best thing you can do for yourself right now.

it really is interesting that a husband and wife goes through the same process and one's score varies..same in this house!
